Our theoretical course of 2024-25 is unfortunately full.
The Sabena Aeroclub has set up the first English speaking theoretical course for private pilots in Belgium. The club also organises theoretical courses in French on a continuous basis. Passing the theoretical exam is the first step to obtaining the Private Pilot License.
The course is given on the airfield of Grimbergen, only 15 kilometers away from Brussels. The course is oriented towards the international community and expatriates living in Belgium. Of course, Dutch or French speaking candidates can also participate in the English course, but they may as well choose to enrol in the French course. Our theory course is modular which means the student can "drop in" any time a new subject starts.
While the main purpose is theoretical training in order to obtain the Private Pilot License, courses are open to anyone who would like to know more about flying or for any pilot who wishes to refresh his/her knowledge. Courses are given by a team of highly motivated ground instructors.

After having passed the theoretical exams at the Belgian Civil Aviation Authority in Brussels the practical exam must be completed within two years. At the Sabena Aeroclub it is possible, and even encouraged, to combine theoretical and practical training at the same time. This will give you a better understanding of many terms used during the theory course. To prepare you for the exam the club will use a little test at the end of each subject and a practice exam at the end of the course.
